Dominic Kristich - 22nd Eagle Palm

Eagle Scout Dominic Kristich, Mesa’s Order of the Arrow past vice chief and Post 1760’s own 2015 VFW Scout of the Year recipient has set a national record. With his Board of Review back on December 13th, 2015 he was awarded his 22nd Eagle Palm. This accomplishment of Dominic’s totals out to 131 merit badges.

On Sunday, May 22nd Dominc’s 22nd Eagle Palm Court of Honor was held at the Church of the Master Presbyterian Church. In attendance was many family and friends of Dominic, which also included Mesa Mayor John Giles, Councilmember Kevin Thompson and representing our Post 1760 Dan Wilson. The ceremony included both an American Indian ceremonial dance by the Wipala Wiki Lodge 432 Dance Team, and a ‘Star Wars’ introduction as they presented him with a DVD. Dominic, 18, started in Boy Scouts as a Tiger Cub in the Cub Scout program with Pack 288 sponsored by Church of the Master, Presbyterian PCUSA.  He went on to earn the Cub Scout’s highest award called the Arrow of Light. He crossed over into its Boy Scout program shortly thereafter and proceeded to earn the Eagle Scout award on December 17, 2009, after he completed his Eagle Scout project for Mesa United Way.  Since then he was honored by the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout’s Honors Society, with the Vigil award, according to a press release.

Dominic is in his first year at Northern Arizona University in the Honor’s Program with 74 college credits and is leaning towards an engineering degree.

The former record of 20 Palms was held by Evan Spencer in Flagstaff in 2007 and was recognized as the then National record.
