As we gear up to celebrate our 95th anniversary year this November serving our veterans and their families here in Mesa, we are commemorating this significant milestone with special designed shirts. This shirt has a bunch of symbolism in the design, and for a short time we’ll have a special order 1-week opening for those wanting shirts other than M, L and XL sizes.
About the shirt and it’s design
This shirt has a bunch of symbolism in it tied in with our Post’s namesake Joseph “Dode” Morris, along with the front chest graphic of our building’s historic sign.
- The crossed canons signify the US Army Field Artillery unit Dode was assigned to; Battery C, 340th Battalion
- The circle insignia in the background is the 89th Infantry, a division that formed in August 1917 that Dode’s Battalion was assigned to
- The head and garrison cap signify the long many years our organization has been serving the Mesa community
- The #StillServing is a VFW National organization campaign that started this year (2024) in leu of the organization’s 125 years in existence
How to order for special sizes
The quarter-zip jersey shirts being ordered will be in Medium, Large and Extra Large sizes that will be available in our Post’s canteen for a donation of $32.00.
The design is sublimated, not screen printed and are crafted on a stretchy, lightweight, breathable 100% polyester material. The larger or smaller the shirt, the graphics size adjusts accordingly (this is the same quality of shirt made as the Dode’s 8 pool league team).

- Machine Washable
For those needing or wanting sizes larger, smaller, or of a different type of shirt (i.e. polo collared, t-shirt, sleeveless, womens’ sizes, etc.) we will have a one week opening to pre-order. The Post Quartermaster will be at the building Monday through Saturday in the day time (outside of errands, feel free to phone or email him to make order/payment arrangements if you’re unable to visit building). There is an additional fee for larger sizes/shirt types, in a range of +$1 to +$8 more per shirt.

Because we are ordering in bulk straight from the factory, we’re able to keep the cost significantly down.
For those wanting special sized shirts after this order is submitted a link will be provided to the shirt factory’s website (price is significantly increased by factory on single shirt orders).
Payments can be made at the Post’s canteen POS via cash or credit card for donation purchases of these shirts, both pre-order and on site after bulk shirt order is received.
