In late June news reporter Eric Mungenast contacted our Commander seeking assistance with a news article they were putting out, specifically with honoring veterans in the East Valley (“East Valley Heroes”). Within a 48 hour window Commander Dan Wilson gathered information (bio data) from Post 1760’s website, and active duty pictures from those members the news reporter were seeking and was able to submit most of them by the deadline (one member’s information missed).
Although our members were not in the print issue for Sunday, June 29th they were featured in the online newspaper for the East Valley Tribune. You can view the link here: East Valley Tribune: East Valley Heroes.
Members from our Post that were featured are Bob Burns, Matt “Ole” Olsen, Stevie Mae Douglas, Ron Heraty, Juaquin “Jack” Gomez Sepulveda, Jesse Chitwood and Dan Wilson.
In the near future we’ll have on our website those active duty photos of our members and others in the past that have been submitted. If any of our members can provide us with their active duty photos please submit them by email to info@mesavfw.org or by dropping them off at the Post Canteen (pictures submitted will be scanned and returned).
