Last Tuesday Post 1760 made a donation contribution to the East Valley Young Marines here in Mesa. This donation goes towards their participation in joining several other units along with hundreds of Young Marines to honor the December 7th, 1941, memorial. The Young Marines will be hosting the wreath-laying ceremony at the National Cemetery of the Pacific, they will participate in Community service work through the Malama Pu’uloa project,  the Klipper Ceremony via MCBH as well as march in the Pearl Harbor memorial parade.

Post 1760 Commander Jesse Chitwood presented a donation check for $500.00 to unit members and Unit XO Tim Needham. Post 1760 has had a long history with the East Valley Young Marines, along with other youth programs including Sea Cadets, Mesa North Central Little League, and most recently the 4-H Maricopa County Shoot Youth event.

The Young Marines program is a national non-profit 501c (3) youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages eight through high school graduation. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral and physical development of its members. The program focuses on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and self-discipline, so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
