ROTC ★ JROTC

Each year Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1760 participates in presenting students the ‘Veterans of Foreign Wars’ medal in their perspective school programs. For each medal winner an officer from Post 1760 will attend the award ceremony to present the award to the cadet/midshipman recipient. Our Post is open to participating with any JROTC and ROTC program in the Phoenix valley. We encourage all educational institutions to contact our office for more information for our participating in these award programs with your school.

ROTC Silver Award

This award consists of a silver medal pendant with ribbon, along with certificate and is presented annually to a cadet at each institution who has excelled in Military Science or an ROTC program activity. The cadet must:

• An undergraduate student in any MS class.
• Be in good standing academically and militarily.
• Have demonstrated achievement and concentrated effort in military and academic subjects and/or demonstrated capability and diligence in a related activity of the ROTC program.
• Not have previously received this award.

JROTC Bronze Award

This award consists of a bronze medal pendant with ribbon, along with certificate and is presented annually to an outstanding second- or third-year cadet in a 3-year program (third- or fourth-year cadet in a 4 year program) who is actively engaged in the JROTC program and who possesses individual characteristics contributing to leadership. The cadet must:

• Have a positive attitude toward their JROTC program
• Have outstanding military bearing and conduct
• Possess strong positive personal attributes (such as courtesy, dependability, punctuality, respect, and cooperation)
• Demonstrate patriotism (being a member of the color guard or drill team) and actively promote Americanism
• Demonstrate leadership potential
• Attain a grade “B” in their JROTC program with an overall average grade of “C” in all subjects for the previous semester
• Be active in student activities
• Not have previously received this award.
