Navy Birthday
Advice being shared from one generation to another.

This year on October 15th the Mesa VFW with a few of their Navy Veterans put together for the first time a U.S. Navy Birthday Celebration. There was much to enjoy with honors conducted by both the Black Eagles Squadron and the Phoenix Division Sea Cadet Corps., a historical overview, a special visit by active duty  AO Petty Officer 3rd Class Jessica Portillo, video presentations along with food, music and ceremonial toast for all Navy Veterans in attendance from a ceremonial keg. It was the first US Navy Birthday Celebration event conducted at the Mesa VFW and we look forward to more to come.

Much thanks for those that put this together:  Post members Bob Burns, Brian Long, Ernie Granillo, Tommy Figueroa, Dan Wilson, USNCC Commanding Officer Wayne Baker and the Black Eagles Squadron (Mesa), along with USNCC Commanding Officer Tony Cartland and the Phoenix Division, and both Marion Cartland and Barbara Wilson for their contributing photographs for this article.
