MESA, Ariz. (29OCT2018) – VFW Dode Morris Post 1760 is proud to be a sponsor of the 2018 East Valley Veterans Parade on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 in Mesa. The East Valley Veterans Parade is held in downtown Mesa to honor, thank and celebrate local veterans and active military. Last year over 40,000 spectators watched more than 2,500 parade participants from East Valley communities including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale, Apache Junction, Queen Creek and Higley.

This year’s parade theme is “Kilroy Was Here,” a reference to the iconic graffiti character and corresponding phrase that came to popularity during World War II and quickly became synonymous with the service, dedication and commitment of U.S. Armed Forces.

The event begins at University Drive & Center Street with presentations at 10:45 a.m. and a flyover and parade start at 11:00 a.m. The East Valley Veterans Parade Association is an all-volunteer community event organization that relies on the generosity of local businesses, organizations and individuals to accomplish this collective patriotic tribute.

“We think it is important to set aside a day to commemorate those that have served our country,” said Commander Jesse Chitwood,  “VFW Dode Morris Post 1760 is a long time advocate and is proud to continually support the East Valley Veterans Parade.”
